The award-winning all-day café and delicatessen – Smoke House Deli – has finally set up shop in Pune. Well, at least their delivery kitchen.
Known for their varied menu from pancakes to noshes, pastas to burgers and desserts to cocktails, Smoke House Deli promises to serve up some delectable grub to satiate any and every culinary desire.
I recently had an opportunity to sample some of their dishes and I was extremely impressed. Headed by Chef Sharad Rao of Social fame meant the expectations were sky-high.
Right from the preparation to packaging to delivery, Smoke House Deli follows all recommended and mandated hygiene and sanitization protocols to ensure the food is delivered with the least human contact.
The Banana and Raisin Pancakes with whipped cream and maple syrup were an absolute delight. Perfectly cooked, the pancakes were fluffy yet filling, thanks to the banana. Add a generous drizzle of the maple syrup and you can enjoy them just as they were meant to be.
The Crunchy Mozzarella Fritters had just the right crunch to it, with a very satisfying sound to the bite. And the molten gooey cheese inside was yummy and balanced the crunch quite well.
Pasta and Risotto
The Tomato and Mascarpone Risotto had a nice tangy-creamy balance to it, thanks to the tomato and cheese. The al-dente Arborio rice provided a nice bite to the dish.
The Cottage Cheese Steak with Aubergine Caponata had two huge portions of paneer slabs covered in a tomato and aubergine caponata and the various textures and flavors upped the dish to the next level. #HighlyRecommended
Smoke House Deli has already captured the hearts (and tummies) of Delhiites, Bangaloreans and Mumbaikars and now is set to rule the Pune culinary landscape as well.
