Hosted by the Indo German Chamber of Commerce (Pune Division), the Pune Oktoberfest is one of the city’s longest running and most successful events.
Held at the Member’s Enclosure of the RWITC, the Pune Oktoberfest is a delightful display of German culture. This three-day celebration involved endless pouring of beer from local breweries, paired with some marvelous German and local delicacies. German music, tradition and a highly infectious vibe will only add onto the ambiance of the fest.

About the Beer
With a spurt in craft beers and craft beer lovers in recent years, they have decided to join hands with three local breweries to bring us their wide array of craft brews for Oktoberfest – Doolally Craft Beers, Effingut, and Kimaya Brewing Company.
Here are some of the beer I tried at the press conference.
|Effingut’s Hefeweizen, Doolally’s Oktoberfest Bier and Kimaya’s Festbier|
The Hefeweizen is a traditional unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer with flavors of banana and cloves, with a hint of bubblegum. Awarded the “Best Beer in the Country”, the Hefe is certainly going to be a fan-favorite.
The other beers available at the Pune Oktoberfest would be Marzen and Dunkelweizen, with the Marzen being their Oktoberfest special beer.
Doolally Craft Beers
The Oktoberfest Bier is extremely sessionable and light on the palate. Strong enough to last from March till October, this is Doolally’s entry to the special Oktoberfest beers.
The other beers available at the Pune Oktoberfest would be Apfelwein and Pilsner.
Kimaya Brewing Company
Brewed in the spirit of Oktoberfest, Kimaya’s Festbier is smooth, sessionable and gives a toasty mouthfeel to showcase elegant German malt flavors without becoming too heavy or filling.
The other beers available at the Pune Oktoberfest would be Vanilla Porter, Belgian Wit, K-IPA, and Apple Cider.
About the Food
The Oktoberfest is incomplete without dishes intrinsic to the festival. This year, the reins of the culinary experience has been handed over to a highly successful bar called Iron Bar N Grill.
A modern twist to an industrial bar with interesting elements, the USP of Iron Bar & Grill is the combination of lip smacking world cuisine paired with authentic cocktails concocted by expert mixologists.
Some standout dishes for the Oktoberfest include Thuringer Rostbratwurste, Grill Bratwurst Mitttelgrob, Kasewurstchen, Krakauer Wurstchen, Black Forest Roast Chicken, German Potato Salad, Sauerkraut and Pretzels.
