Sunday Drunch at Adda

So Adda is the latest restaurant to jump onto the Sunday Brunch bandwagon with their “Sunday Drunch” and it was a wonderful first Sunday with their Monsoon-themed drunch.

With a catch-line of “Why bottoms up when you can #GetDrunched”, Adda definitely set-up the mood with just the right décor to get the crowd going. Happy clouds hanging from the rafters and the staff decked up with mini-umbrellas was certainly a creative addition.

While the bar was set to serve beers, sangrias, mojitos and LIITs, the live counters served sweet corn, momos, maggi and pakodas – everything you would want to devour in the monsoons.

Live Counters

Considering my dietary restrictions, Chaitanya was kind enough to get the mojito customized for me. While the gin replaced the white rum and soda took place of the sprite, the sugar syrup was completely eliminated. And trust me, the drink tasted just as good.

While the veg. momos turned out to be more delicious than the chicken ones, it was the schezwan dip that got our tongues salivating. The tadka maggi too had a unique flavor which I appreciated and the pakodas had the necessary crunch.

Apart from the counters, the staff kept moving amongst the crowd with plates full of tandoori starters like hari bhari tikkis and murgh tikka.

The flea market had counters featuring brands like Chappers, The Bow Tie Company, Aadyaa and Setu Art. Some wonderful and quirky artefacts on display, including jewelry, footwear, bow ties and paper weights.

The live band gave us company while we enjoyed a game of foosball and beer pong. Chappers had also set up a dartboard wherein you could win discount vouchers.

Live Band

The mains were served buffet style and offered biryani, egg bhurji and soya/chicken kheema with colorful mini-cupcakes as desserts. Well prepared dishes served in supari [areca nut tree] leaf plates and cutlery, which lent a wonderful environment-friendly twist to the brunch.

A flea market, live food counters, live band, a well-stocked bar and a buffet offering you a plethora of dishes – now that’s how I would want to spend my Sundays!

A big shout out to Chaitanya and Aishwarya for inviting us and Team Adda for hosting us.
