Plancha is a hidden gem of a place which serves some brilliant food. An unassuming place that focuses on what it does best – dish out some amazing food.
Recently Plancha launched their new menu and #IWasInvited to sample some of their new dishes and provide my feedback.
It has simple yet elegant interiors with cozy ambiance, minimalistic décor and comfortable seating. Located on the main road, parking is a problem and patrons would have to rely on roadside parking for their vehicles.
The Beef Ribs and Cheese Sandwich had mac n cheese and caramelized onions for company to the roast beef. While the meat was perfectly cooked, I did not feel the necessity for the bread. On the other hand, the Ham and Cheese Toastie was #foodporn redefined. Ham & cheese stuffed between the slices and deep fried. It is recommended to dip the toastie in maple syrup before biting into it which sounds weird, to be honest (it sure did to me), however its an amazing flavor combination. #YumYum #HighlyRecommended

The twice-cooked, super crispy Korean Fried Wings garnished with sprouts and sesame were absolutely out-of-the-world delicious with the crunch of the wings very evident despite the generous coating of the sauce. And the glaze of the sauce was extremely enticing. #MustHave

The Pork Ribs were slow cooked for over 12 hours, and tossed in pineapple and house BBQ sauce. The ribs were falling-off-the-bone tender and had the melt-in-mouth texture. The tartness of the pineapple helped cut through the fattiness of the pork. #DeliciousDelicious

After the carb filled wings and ribs, we opted to try the Zero Carb Salad which had three beans, raw mango, green apple, and broccoli. A light and refreshing salad, I loved the spot tangy-ness of the raw mango in the salad. #Refreshing

The Fettuccine Bolognaise had handmade fettuccine, lamb ragu, and garnished with parmesan. Unfortunately the dish did not work for us. Uninspiring looks and an odd aftertaste of the kheema like it was spoilt [and not for choice 😐]. I’ll attribute it to probably a bad batch of meat.

The Kundapur Ghee Roast Chicken is Placha’s take on the classic Mangalorean curry. The chicken was very well cooked and the masala marinate on the meat was flavorful however the soggy fries did not quite work with it.

Plancha has certainly shown sparks of brilliance with its new menu however some tweaking is still needed for the KO experience, especially in the large plates. Till then, gorge on their small plates which can give you major #foodcoma.
