“If you can’t get to the land of the Italian, get the Italian to your land.”
And that is exactly what CY Marriott Hinjewadi has done for their Italian Food Festival. Celebrated Italian http://thenannycollective.com.au/services/nannies/house-managers/ Chef Christiano Huber, who now calls JW Marriott Pune home, is currently hosting an Italian Fiesta at their Hinjewadi property.
The entrance to the restaurant is adorned with a big display proclaiming the festival along with the cute white flower-adorned bicycle. The attending staff too is very dapper looking in their fedora hats and suspenders.

Pretty refreshing although the punch of the ginger ale was found rather wanting.

Fresh off the Oven
The Margherita Pizza had fresh basil on top, the lovely crunchy base with the soft cheese made for a delicious slice.
The Chicken in Arrabiata Sauce was quite good, the sauce had some mild flavor and wasn’t too tangy. On the other hand, the Chicken Tomato in Tuna Sauce and Balsamico Cream had well-cooked chicken however the sauce didn’t work for me.

The Grilled Artichokes with Glazed Onions was a good preparation, however it’s an acquired taste which may not suit everyone’s palates.

The Seafood Salad was made with marinated prawns, sundried tomato and brandy cream. Couldn’t quite place my finger on it however the dish had a slightly off putting taste.
The Panzanella Mushrooms with tomato, basil, bread croutons, cucumber and onions was a light and refreshing salad while the Fritto Misto di Mare with aioli sauce was absolutely delicious.

The Chicken and Bell Pepper Salad with spring onions felt bland and lacked any punch-y flavors.

The live paste counter had a lot of various options for sauces and pastas. I opted to try their signature dish – the Penne Alla Vodka. Made with pink sauce and a generous dash of vodka, this one was a pleasant surprise on the palate as well.

While the appetizers were served on the table, the mains were setup in a buffet style.
The Tuscan Lamb Stew as well as the Chicken Alla Cacciatora were amazing dishes with the meats extremely well cooked and very tender.

The Miller Style Fish (Alla Mugnaia) too was extremely soft and delicate, with wonderful flavors in every bite.

The vegetarians too had equal number of options in the mains with the Eggplant Parmigiana stealing the show. Such perfection in the cook, I scored it as high as the lamb stew on presentation and taste.
The Porchini Potato Stew and the Capotana Del Garda rounded up the veg. options, both well prepared and tasted as expected.

The desserts counter, in typical CY hospitality, had oodles and oodles of options in bakery, Indian as well as some Italian delicacies.
The Crostata Di Mele is a classic and popular apple tart or cake while the Zuppa Inglese is an Italian dessert layering custard and sponge cake, perhaps derived from trifle. Both smashing desserts, the apple tart being dense while the zuppa was light and airy.
