Being a burgeoning industrial hub, Chakan isn’t on top of everyone’s minds when it comes to family trips or functions, however Courtyard by Marriott Chakan is slowly changing that mindset. It is, quite literally, an oasis of pure luxury and tranquility in the industrial desert.
While just an hour’s drive away from central Pune, Courtyard by Marriott Chakan is strategically located near the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, making it within driving distance from Mumbai as well.
Recently Courtyard by Marriott Chakan hosted me and some friends over a weekend, promising us 2 days full of activities, fun, and of course, food!
Courtyard by Marriott Chakan offers transportation as well for their special guests, which makes the journey a lot more comfortable. The pick-up was prompt and the journey exhilarating.

Upon entering the atrium, you are immediately engulfed in a sense of awe at the capaciousness of everything. The setting felt luxurious yet comfortable. Check-in was quick and pain free and we were on our way to our assigned rooms.

Being 4 of us, we were assigned two junior suites in opposing corners of the hotel, offering different views. These suites have a walk-in closet, mini-refrigerator, high-speed Internet access, and a plush featherbed mattress with crisp linens to ensure a restful sleep during your hotel stay. Marble bathrooms featuring a comfortable bath-tub and a 24-hour room service at your beck and call ensured you leave your worries at the entrance itself.
The suites were absolutely oozing luxury from every nook and corner. A huge living room area which also housed the entertainment unit as well as a desk for your work. The sectional sofa ensures you can seat comfortably with your legs stretched, while you soak in the comfort offered.

The living room screamed [in muted tones] casual elegance and the usage of whites and earthy browns matched the theme. A handwritten note by the General Manager provided the personal touch. That was certainly a welcoming gesture for any guest.

The floor-to-ceiling soundproof windows in the living room and bedroom affords us a stunning view of the landscape yet ensured zero disturbance by the traffic.

The bedroom was sheer luxury redefined. An extremely comfortable featherbed mattress with crisp white linen sheets certainly do entice you into La La Land. Sheer curtains covering the entire windows ensure privacy to the occupants. Ample charging points and an iPhone/iPod dock ensures all your gadgets are just as charged as you would be in the morning.

Additionally, the suites also offer a small kitchenette with a well-stocked refrigerator and a microwave with cutlery and glasses for a quick bite in the room itself. On the other hand, there is nothing small about the bathroom which offers complete stress relieving solutions in the form of a full length bath-tub, a handheld shower head and a ceiling mounted pressure shower. Toiletries are very thoughtfully placed all over the bathroom and additionals can be requested from Housekeeping.

Having checked-in late afternoon, we were famished beyond words. A quick call to room service and our order was placed. The menu booklet placed on the living room desk gives you all the details of the cuisines available at MoMo Café. Mushroom Risotto, Spaghetti Aglio Olio and a Lamb Burger satiated our cravings.

Courtyard by Marriott Chakan is LEED-certified (GOLD RATING) by the India Green Building Council and is dedicated to environmentally responsible practices. They also participate actively in Earth Hour, which incidentally fell on the same weekend. By switching off all non-essential lights in the property for an hour, Courtyard by Marriott Chakan pledged its support to the cause.

Additional hotel facilities include a fully equipped fitness center, a rejuvenating spa, a pool and game zone. One side of the pool houses a covered area which can play host to a pool-side buffet while a compact open space on the other side complete the arrangement. Perfect for social gatherings and family functions like sangeet or mehendi.
The fitness center houses a lot of equipment and machines to keep you physically fit while the Tattva Spa complements it by its stress-relieving packages.

The hotel also has multiple event rooms and spaces and can house up to 400 pax in their open garden space – a perfect spot for a “Big Fat Indian Wedding” or even your business functions.
|Morning View from the room|
Begin your mornings in Chakan at MoMo Cafe, their all-day restaurant. A wonderful spread of dishes ranging from Indian – South Indian and Maharashtrian – to European and Continental. A wise man had once said “Breakfast like a king” and we certainly did take him and his adage seriously. After all, it is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast staples like fresh cut fruits, corn flakes, bread/toast and freshly squeezed fruit juice completed the round-up.

The game zone has a foosball table, carom, chess and table tennis on offer and post breakfast, we made a straight beeline for it.

It is rightly said that “All good things must come to an end” and so must our wonderful staycation courtesy Courtyard by Marriott Chakan. The check-out was even quicker than the check-in and thus began our long and arduous journey back to the drudgery of daily life.
A big shout-out to Devendra and Bhakti for inviting us and Sutapa and Team Courtyard by Marriott Chakan for hosting us over the weekend.
